About
Hi, I'm Aditya Gupta, a student at The Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai. My interests lie in mathematics, the intersection of mathematics and theoretical computer science, and sustainability. I enjoy exploring mathematical and computational ideas, understanding why they work, and finding ways to apply them to real-world problems. Through research and independent projects, I've become particularly interested in how computational models can help us understand complex systems and make better decisions.
Alongside school, I've pursued university-level coursework in multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and modern algebra, and programmes in mathematical proofs and algorithms. These experiences have deepened my interest in both abstract reasoning and the applications that motivate my research.
Beyond research, I enjoy making mathematics more accessible through student communities, competitions, and publications. I particularly enjoy designing problems for others. As President of Full STEAM Ahead and Secretary of the Cathedral Mathematics Society, I help create opportunities for younger students to explore ideas beyond the classroom. I also founded 21 Million Green Bombay, an initiative combining e-waste awareness with community collection drives.
Together, my research, projects, and community work reflect my interest in connecting mathematical understanding with practical action through both independent investigation and collaboration with others.

Broad areas of focus
Mathematical modelling
Representing real-world systems mathematically to understand their behaviour and explore possible improvements.
Optimisation
Finding effective solutions under practical constraints and balancing competing objectives.
Machine learning and data analysis
Using computational models to identify patterns, make predictions, and learn from imperfect data.
